Your baby’s gut changes dramatically during their first 1,000 days

As their gut matures, you want to see it hitting specific milestones to reduce and avert microbiome-related conditions like eczema, allergies, asthma, and diabetes later in life.

Milk Lover (0-4m)

Bif and Bacteroides are seeded from Mom
  • Bifidobacterium dominated
  • Often high unfriendly bacteria is okay
  • Low amounts of food-associated bacteria
  • Low levels of diversity is normal

Baby on the Move (5-9m)

Baby’s first solids! Followed closely by gross solid poops
  • Still Bifidobacterium dominated
  • Unfriendly shouldn’t be very high anymore
  • Some amounts of food-associated species
  • Diversity increases as baby starts exploring

Solid Adventurer (9-12m)

You introduce more solids. They get more and more bacteria!
  • Here’s where we often see Bif no longer king, instead diversity is on the up and up
  • Food-associated bacteria are on the rise,  and we want to see diversity up, too
  • Baby’s gut is starting to look like a thriving toddler

Confident Eater (1-2y)

Maybe weaning, maybe not. Each journey’s different
  • Bifs are still lingering, but they’ve had their time
  • Baby’s microbiome is starting to share more and microbes with parents’
  • Now diversity is critical to good digestive health

Energetic Toddler (2-3y)

Your baby’s gut is now harder to throw off balance
  • Baby’s gut is stabilizing - it’s changing less
  • Now diversity rules the gut with food-associated bacteria moving in to stay
  • Good eating habits and the right bacteria will set your baby on track

Tested my whole family! Really fascinating and helpful insights for my 2 month newborn and my 3 year old. My husband and I did it too, and our guts look very similar. Gut health is a family affair, and with Tiny Health, we feel empowered to improve our overall gut health together. It's really amazing to track how the gut changes over time for babies, especially as it relates to immune system development.

The first gut test designed with families in mind

Tiny Health was founded by Cheryl, a Mom looking to heal her baby’s microbiome after a C-Section birth. Unable to find clear, reliable answers anywhere she quickly realized that the only gut microbiome tests on the market were designed for grown-ups, not babies, leading to inaccurate results. She set out to create the first ever test to measure the microbiome health of babies during the critical first 1,000 days of life

Your family's gut can change as much as your family does. Even with a healthy diet and good habits, changes to your environment or lifestyle can impact your gut in unexpected ways. Starting school, travel, and illnesses are just some of the many factors that can cause your family's gut to veer off course. And when left unchecked, these gut imbalances can lead to poorer immunity, fatigue and over the long term, chronic conditions.

While families often share a lot of the same diet, lifestyle, environment, each family members needs are unique so testing can provide each family member with personalized results specific to their unique gut microbiome with age-specific biomarkers and recommendations. Use it to find out if your supplements are working, get to the root cause of your baby or child's allergies or eczema, recover from illness or antibiotic exposure and more.

We recommend testing the first time to get a baseline of you or a family member's gut, and then at least one another time to see how your gut has changed as a result of implementing your action plan and what further interventions might be required. Many factors can impact your gut such as changes in diet, alcohol consumption, change in routine, new medication, new lifestyle habits, and more.

Keeping a tab on how your gut changes can help improve your overall health, improve lifespan, energy, and healh span.
