Your baby’s gut changes dramatically during their first 1,000 days

As their gut matures, you want to see it hitting specific milestones to reduce and avert microbiome-related conditions like eczema, allergies, asthma, and diabetes later in life.

Milk Lover (0-4m)

Bif and Bacteroides are seeded from Mom
  • Bifidobacterium dominated
  • Often high unfriendly bacteria is okay
  • Low amounts of food-associated bacteria
  • Low levels of diversity is normal

Baby on the Move (5-9m)

Baby’s first solids! Followed closely by gross solid poops
  • Still Bifidobacterium dominated
  • Unfriendly shouldn’t be very high anymore
  • Some amounts of food-associated species
  • Diversity increases as baby starts exploring

Solid Adventurer (9-12m)

You introduce more solids. They get more and more bacteria!
  • Here’s where we often see Bif no longer king, instead diversity is on the up and up
  • Food-associated bacteria are on the rise,  and we want to see diversity up, too
  • Baby’s gut is starting to look like a thriving toddler

Confident Eater (1-2y)

Maybe weaning, maybe not. Each journey’s different
  • Bifs are still lingering, but they’ve had their time
  • Baby’s microbiome is starting to share more and microbes with parents’
  • Now diversity is critical to good digestive health

Energetic Toddler (2-3y)

Your baby’s gut is now harder to throw off balance
  • Baby’s gut is stabilizing - it’s changing less
  • Now diversity rules the gut with food-associated bacteria moving in to stay
  • Good eating habits and the right bacteria will set your baby on track

Your child's gut can change as much as your child does

While your child continues to change and adapt their diet, lifestyle and environment. Many factors can disrupt the gut with unwanted side effects such as poor immunity, digestive issues, allergies, eczema, and more.

"When you think of all the amazing things vulvas and vaginas do - give birth, orgasms, periods, and the vagina even cleans itself - it's a good reminder to take care of this part of our bodies."

"No other testing company was able to detect this strain"

My grandson and I both took the same strain of B. infantis and we were the first consumers to have this strain detected in our Tiny Health gut test. No other testing company was able to detect this beneficial strain, which completely turned around my grandson's gut from extremely inflammatory to anti-inflammatory. It also reestablished a healthy amount of bifidobacteria in my gut. Thanks, Tiny Health!

The first gut & vaginal test designed with families in mind

Tiny Health was founded by Cheryl, a Mom looking to heal her baby’s microbiome after a C-Section birth. Unable to find clear, reliable answers anywhere she quickly realized that the only gut microbiome tests on the market were designed for grown-ups, not babies, leading to inaccurate results. She set out to create the first ever test to measure the microbiome health of babies during the critical first 1,000 days of life. We’ve now expanded to offer microbiome testing for every stage of life, from womb through adulthood.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use my HSA/FSA benefits to pay for Tiny+?

Many of our members use their FSA/HSA to pay for clinical fees and tests.

However, we recommend checking with your FSA/HSA company/carrier for information on what details are required.

In case there is any additional documentation you need, feel free to reach out to us at customer support, we’re more than happy to help you with the necessary paperwork.

Why should I join? Why do I need to test myself multiple times?

Even with a healthy lifestyle and good attention to hygiene, a number of common factors can cause disruptions to the vaginal microbiome. Research has shown there are linkages beween the vaginal microbiome and outcomes such infertiilty, pre-term birth, STIs and more. And sadly, since vaginal health research has been traditionally underfunded, conditions are also commonly misdiagnosed.

Many factors can impact your vaginal health such as being recently postpartum, douching, sexual activity, contraception and more.
Keeping on top of your vaginal health, can not only help alleviate symptoms of bacterial conditions, but if you're currently pregnant, or trying to conceive, it could improve your chances of better outcomes.

We recommend testing the first time to get a baseline of your vaginal microbiome, and then at least one another time to see how your vaginal community state has changed as a result of implementing your action plan and what further interventions might be required.

Please visit our Help Center for any question we may not have answered here.
